ABOUT TVDWID

Tonto Village Domestic Water Improvement District (TVDWID) was originally formed by petition to and approval of the Gila county Board of Supervisors on January 7, 1997 in accordance with Sections 48-903, 48-906 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.  The initial citizen based Board of Directors, as appointed by the Board of Supervisors never took office.  However, after a public election took place in November 2007, a citizen Board of Directors was seated on January 1, 2008.
Under the organizational statues, and other applicable statues, the residents and property owners within the District are the beneficial Members and controlling interest of TVDWID; it is they who elect a board of Directors to carry out the purposes and mission of the District.  The Board shall operate under the laws of the State of Arizona in accordance with applicable statues.
The District encompasses Tonto Village, Tonto Village Unit 2, and Tonto Village Unit 3 as described in the plats of Gila County Recorder’s maps Tonto Village #188, Tonto Village 2-245, and Tonto Village 3 565-565A.
